Douro Invest Ltd. is a Canadian corporation based in Toronto, Ontario, operating as the North American arm of Alto do Monte Properties. We are the relationship layer between Canadian investors and the development team building projects in Porto — managing investor introductions, hosting our events program, and coordinating ongoing reporting and communications.
Our work happens through three event formats — the annual Douro Real Estate Summit in Montreal, the monthly Douro Evenings in Toronto, and bespoke Private Gatherings on request — alongside ongoing one-to-one relationships with investors, advisors, and the broader community working in Portuguese real estate. Capital is committed through our registered dealer partner under Canadian securities legislation. We operate as a referral source, not a securities dealer.

Arash Hashemi is Douro Invest's Managing Partner in Canada and the relationship owner for Canadian investors. His background combines 18 years of international project management with governmental institutions (Global Affairs Canada), international development organizations (Oxfam, WUSC, Amnesty International), and most recently luxury residential construction with Royal Castles in Toronto.
At Alto do Monte, Arash leads investor relations and partnership development, integrating sustainable investment strategies across the portfolio. From Toronto, he leads the Douro Invest Canadian operation — event programming, investor education, and ongoing relationship management.
Arash holds a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (with Economics) from McGill University.

Each Alto do Monte project operates through a project-specific special purpose vehicle with ring-fenced capital structure. Capital is segregated by project; no commingling.

Construction financing committed by major Portuguese banks — Caixa Geral de Depósitos and Millennium BCP — applying institutional underwriting standards to every project.
REGULATORY
Douro Invest operates as a referral source under Canadian securities legislation. All securities offerings are made exclusively by our registered dealer partner.
OVERSIGHT
Legal counsel in both Canada and Portugal. Independent accounting and audit on all SPV financials. Investor reporting prepared to institutional reporting standards.
